There shouldn't be any
I live with my husband and my dog - that is my family life I don't own them or them me. If I had children I certainly wouldn't consider that I owned them.
We must stop calling ourselves owners but insist that it is understood that dogs and othe pets are part and parcel of the family unit whatever shape it is
