The bigger ones do eat the little ones, quite alarming to young children whose tadpoles share a bowl. They can sometimes jump out and get eaten by cats etc.
In a garden pond the fish will eat them.,
They do eat other quite readily - survival of the fittest and all that. When they spawn in my pond there are hundreds of them, but only a handful make it to froglets!

girlygirl2. no, they are friends or should it be fiends of my grandson. i could'nt tell them face to face so i have sent them a note each.
