flying ants

i have these small bugs that look like ants with wings but i thought flying ants were bigger. the only spot i have found them in our apartment is at the top of the windows in our living room and on the carpet where the sun shines in from the windows. but there is a ton of them i kill them all day long but they just dont go away. so 1 how can i get rid of them. and 2 are they even flying ants?

readyrok, I doubt these are flying ants, well certainly not the flying ants I know. In the four years I have been in England, I have not seen a flying ant .

Flying ants range from about half and inch to an inch in length. They.come out of holes in the ground in swarms, at the beginning of a rainy season (that's all year round in England!). They usually fly around lit lights and loose their wings soon after leaving their holes.

The bodies of the flying ant are very tasty and have much goodness in them. I find that they taste like peanut butter!!
