Hey, could anyone run me through the basics of keeping a cat i.e what vaccinations they need/how often and price of this? Plus worming/how often and price?
And defleaing im guessing you only really do that when they have fleas?
Any anything else i have missed?
Thanks in advance :)

Ok im abit vague on what you want to know as I have 7 cats so its often back & forward to the vets for different things!
Umm Spaying costs me 55, nuetering 38,
Jabs, well for my dog they just cost 55 for the first lot and then booster every year, cats need a yearly booster so im guessing around 20? (please corresct me if im wrong, ive lost track!)
Insurance we would pay 7.35 a month but get a discount as we have 7, but can pay between 5 - 15
Defleaing worming my lot csts around 60 (but then thats 6 cats & a dog all at once) and is done every 6 months from what my vet says!

Hi freak_unique,
i have two kittens and yeh they cost quite abit to keep, on the day of getting one its best to flee and worm it so depending on how much you want to spent if you go to the vets you can buy frontline for the flees and you can also get a drop on the back of the neck wormer which in all no more then 15, this needs doing every 3mths, Depending what type of food you want to feed it wet and biscuits 10 wk, jabs needed before going out for first time i think about 15. then 30-60 if you want your cat neutred, but also you need toys, litterbox, litter, bed, food bowls, scratch post and love.
Cats need fleeing if they have them or not just to be safe because before you no it there will be flees multiplying within your home.
I hope this is helpfull.

think feline leukaemia is a separate jab for cats. If you dont take out insurance you may also get vet bills if the cat is poorly, so you have to ensure you can afford to pay them in the event of an illness. You also have to consider whether or not it is safe to have a cat where you live, do you live on or near a busy road? - a kitten will also need to be kept in for many months before it can be let out - you would need to at least have to have it neutered first.
