One of the tapeworm varieties eggs is ingested by fleas. The dog or cat may then ingest the fleas whilst grooming. So you need to sort out both worming and flea control on a regular basis.
Have a look at this site for info on different worms. Not during breakfast though!! http://www.wormfree.co.uk/

hey freak-Unique, Drontal are the drops given to me by the vets - you just put they on the back of the neck area. They also gave me a worm prep but I can't remember the name of it. I do remember they were both pretty cheap so pop into your local vets and I'm sure they will sell you them without seeing pussy tat.

Drontal for worms, and frontline for fleas - not sure the vet would sell you any without seeing the cat - but you can obtain both online without a prescription. Is this a new cat, as if it is, it will need vaccinating so will need a trip to the vets - but the worming and flea products are much cheaper online anyway.
