I have lost my cat 6 days ago and I feel so sad. A couple of weeks ago he needed emergency vet treatment (It cost me 180!) as he had been in a fight, since then I have fed him fresh salmon fillets, beef and fat milk, I have let him sleep on the sofa and trated him like a king and now I cant find him anywhere. I have phoned the RSPCA, Cat protection league, local vets, knocked neighbours doors, environmental health (incase of the worst) and NO ONE has seen him. What else can I do? Do you think I will find him again?

oh girly, you must be worried sick.

Cats are wanderers though aren't they? He might have got caught up in bragging to his feline friends about how well his mum treats him...

If all the organisations you've mentioned know nothing of him, that could be a good thing. Try putting up some posters on streets and in local vets and shops.

Good luck, and let us know.

Sorry to hear about your missing cat. Roughquest had a cat that went missing for three weeks, the cat turned up but was in a bit of a state. Hope yours turns up soon.
My daughter had the same problem 2 weeks ago.She printed out some leaflets with his photo and asked people to look in their garages and sheds and posted them in over 100 houses nearby. Within 6 hours he was home, a lot thinner and we hope a lot wiser.Good Luck in your search.
Can only advise what has been said before.I feel so sorry for you,we cat lovers have all been there at some time or other.Just only hope he turns up for you,Im afraid this is the price we pay for their freedom and it can be such a big worry.Good luck girly hope you can keep us posted with some good news.
i had a call from my ex husband saying our cat had gone missing. This was just before xmas 2005. by mid jan we'd given up hope. He was just an old tom cat 14 years old and wasnt ID chipped.

then i got a call aug 2006 from my ex to announce our cat had just walked through the cat flap and was pacing up and down the kitchen waiting to be fed.

I keep hoping he will come to the window or come running out the bushes when I pull into the driveway.
I feel so annoyed with myself as I didnt get him microchipped.
If anyone reads this post that has a cat and not got them micro chipped, just do it!!! This feeling is horrible.
We move house in just under 2 weeks time so I really am hoping that he will return soon.

Redcrx - OMG! Thats amazing! I bet he couldnt believe his eyes!
we were amazed. Hes done the same thing since and we are sure hes moved into another house when hes gone awol. Its as if hes going on a holiday lol

chipping is a great idea, although i wish the vets didnt quite charge so much. My fella makes the ID chips and guns for the vets etc and he always chips friends animals for about 5 and that includes registering the chip properly.

I hope your cat returns soon.
I'm not a cat person but my nephew who is used to worry about his cat (even tho he'd had it chipped) which would often disappear for days at a time, until he discovered that the crafty cat was actually being shared by two other families in the village. I know it must be worrying when something like this happens but I'm sure that most of the cat people on this site will tell you that its in the nature of a cat to wander about and usually they come home after a while.
Just say a little prayer for his safe return....it helps....and it very often works.
H will come home I'm sure. Please let us know.
Firstly, I hope you do find your cat safe & sound, but take reassurance from the other ABers and my story. I had a cat that went missing, I did everything you did and then she turned up a week later. A few weeks after that she went again, in fact the longest she was 'missing' for was nearly six months! It was during one of her 'missing' spells that my daughter on her way to school saw her sat in the window of a house grooming herself - the house was about half a mile away from home. In fact she came back sometimes with a different collar on! Phoebe was very much a feline free agent yet her brother Joey never strayed further than the bottom of the garden. Fingers crossed he will turn up when he feels the need.
