Powder Blue Tang
3 Answers
Hi, i have a powder blue tang. he has been very happy up until recently, when he appears to be dull in colour and seems a little patchy across his face and side.
Does anyone know what could possibly be causing this? Is he ill or is this just him being stressed out? Any help would be appreciated!

Any ideas what is causing the stress....What are your water tests (temp, SG, pH, NO2, NO3, NH4, O2,, PO4) plus is your skimmer working, have you introduced any new fish lately and what are you feeding them (PB's need algea based food)
If your fish is getting stressed, the next problem you could have is whitespot. I had a PB go down with WS in my 120 gallon reef and it wiped out 18 fish....and all i could do was to sit there and let it take its course.
Feed a good, varied diet....i always used the full range of ocean nutrition flake, fed 3 or 4 times a day with other meaty food and sushi nori fed alongside it.
Hope your fish recovers mate....if you need any more help with your PB, let us know.

Just had to go to good old Wikipedia to find out what a Powder Blue Tang looked like - they're brilliant! I really wish I had the knowledge, time and facilities to have a marine tank. I used to deliver pond plants and many of the places sold marine fish, so I spent ages just looking at them. My favourite was (I think) a Picasso. Hope your Tang regains its zest (sorry, best I could do at short notice).
