I recently got a female Golden Retriever. I already had 2. The new one , who is about 2 years old, chews up everything! Can I stop her. or is it too late?

At the moment she cant play down the garden as much with all the rain, she gets plenty of roadwork etc, but is just a little more hyper than the others and gets bored easily. Do you still have your other two for this one to play with? and does she have plenty of exercise. If it is wooden things or the like, you could try 'bitter bite' as mine hate the smell, let alone the taste. Problem I have is that she chews my duvet while I am asleep, yes I know I should shut her out the bedroom!! They do eventually grow out of it though.......I hope!!!!!!!
Thanks for the replys. I've only had her a week. I have always wanted her, my son found her and her Mother at our farm. He called the owner, and they came and got the Mother and gave him the pup as a reward. She spent 2 years in their backyard, with very little attention, and not any one on one contact. I was so hoping that if we got her, spent time with her, and she had more of a scehduled type living, she would stop. So far she hasn't. But I'm not giving up this soon.
Thanks ya'll.

Try getting a cage for the house, it gives her a safe quiet place to be and you know she isn't chewing. If it is boredom or habit , it will be difficult to break but caging her when left ensures she is safe (chewing wires etc , can be fatal) It also keeps your house together.
Plenty of exercise and suitable stuff to chew should help.
I had a heinz 57 years ago, who never grew out of it. She only stopped when she went to my hubbies mum's during the day, never touched a thing after that, but when left alonewould chew anything.
