Sorry, I meant to type interstice. A space, especially a small or narrow one, between things or parts: 'There is a gleam of luminous gold, where the sinking western sun has found a first direct interstice in the clouds' (John Fowles).
strange question. If you squeeze in the seagulls really well, and I mean REALLY well, then none at all. same goes fr mashed potatoes, spam, eyeballs.... alas, so many examples, and no time.
About 14 kilogrammes, which would be about 18% of the volume of a standard sized barrel. This assumes that the seagulls have been packed in accordance with the standard Henckmeyer-Brankovich procedures (without prior removal of the claws and beaks under the now-defunct Wengxiang protocol).
are they stacked vertical or horizontal ?
I agree entirely with Bernardo's answer, except to add that this procedure will only work in the northern hemisphere. In the southern hemisphere the answer would be 'zilch', because all the sand will keep running out.
hmm.. any clue as to degree of decomposition of seagulls? if really mushy (barrel left in hot sun for instance) then presumably no room for sand at all, barr a wee sprinkling on top? just a thought
Question Author
No, these seagulls are pickled. So there is limited decomposition.
Plucked. (thats a question not a statement)
Question Author
Plucked, of course. You can't pickle an unplucked seagull.
I think the answer the answer is 4... maybe 4.5. Certainly no more than 5. Dunno what the units are though...
aha! i see you have all those bases covered. in that case i would say oooo about a bagful. maybe two. now we'eve sorted that out - how we gonna transport the buggers?
Now, if we were talking bonsai seagulls ......
Surely the answer (as always) is 42.
And seagulls don't have claws.
