who do i report animal neglect to when it concerns animals abroad? the animals im concerned about are alligators at paphos aquarium in cyprus, they are living in pens no bigger than 10ft square with a puddle of water no deeper than an inch, i know very little about these animals but am sure that this is not how they should be kept

donella, Im not sure which part of Cyprus paphos is in but if that link is of no help then google animal welfare Cyprus or Waterlife welfare Cyprus and you'll get many links. There's also petitions running for exactly the same problems as you've described for other parts of Cyprus. Best of Luck and good on you for reporting it, if everyone was to take the trouble these poor living creatures wouldn't be suffering the way they are. The Cyprus govt apparently arent interested. Disgusting. As a protest more people should stop going there on holiday as maybe that would make the govt sit up and take notice.
I think that if something like this was to influence the number of tourists visiting the Zoo or Cyprus then something would be done.
I am no fan of Alligators - but they deserve much better facilities that this. Zoos are not ideal places but at least some try to give the animals a good quality of living.
