red wine
Blot as much out as you can then use a small brush and some cold water with vax shampoo or vanish liquid and clean around the area thoroughly. Then, blot out the excess water and you should be OK. I have only tried this with dog pee mind....
its usually red wine that causes it in the first place !
Are you trying to take the pi$$
Hot water and Biological washing powder. this breaks down the smell as well as washing it out and the animal should then not be tempted to use this area again.
I assume this was animal urine and not human? The most important thing is to use something chemical to break down the ammonia in the urine - otherwise the animal will keep being attracted to the same area to pee. I had the same problem with my cats - but be careful, as I used "1001 spray" and it bleached the carpet!
i have found that vinigar will break down the urine and a spray called greased lighting will take out any stain and won't harm nothing you use it on
