Hi again asked a question couple of months back - fitted a cat flap and she wouldnt go through it - as advised i lifted the flap up with a piece of string so it is constantly open - she does go through it but now when i leave flap down she still wont use it - what do i do now how do i get her to go through it by doing it herself - help i constantly have a cold draft through my kitchen at mo due to the flap being permanently open
has the flap got a magnetic strip around the edge see if you can get this off they usually just snap onto the edge of the clear plastic bit this will make the flap swing loosely so that she can push it easily if she wont use it push her through a few times when she gets used to it put the magnet back on
How old is your cat? We have to stop ours from over using ours they loved using it as soon as they discovered it. We had to cover it from them while the kittens we still very young so other acts couldn't get in!
Have you tried luring your cat out with some food or something like that?
She will get the hang of it after awhile try making the opening smaller and smaller so each time she has to put a little pressure on it to open it enough to get out of. She'll only have to manage it once and thats it , she know how to do it from then on. Could you not push her through a few times?
