Where does the sea go when the tide goes out?

I would presume it goes in somewhere else.......... Could be wrong though..........

It bulges up at 90 degrees on either side. e.g. if it's low tide in the UK then it's low tide in New Zealand and it's high tide in India and Mexico.

Pops across the the sea to become an high tide somewhere else. Either that or God pulled the plug for a bit, before topping it up again.

The reason for the sea bulging upwards (i.e. the tide coming in) is because of the gravitational pull of the moon. So the high tide is underneath wherever the moon is (and on the other side of the world as well, to balance). The low tide is the stretched out bits in between. Sft42 and Noneck seem to have an incomplete grasp of celestial mechanics and deficient understanding of physical laws.
