It's probably Frank Ifield with 'I Remember You' in 1961 - even though he was born in Coventry of Australian parents.
Rolf Harris? 'Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport' got to No.9 for 13 weeks in July 1960.
It was The Seekers, who reached No.1 in 1965 with the song "I'll Never Find Another You".
The vocalist of The Seekers was Judith Durham, incidentally.
I tell you it was Rolf Harris (1960). Source: The Guinness Book of Hit Singles. Check it out and you'll see.
surely number 9 is not a chart topper TW?!!!
Rolf Harris was the first solo ozzie to top the charts with "Two Little Boys" in December 1969.
