I have a 6 yr old male dog (X breed) who is quite territorial of our house, we have a friend come to visit from the North about 2/3 times a year that brings her male Jack Russell, over the years they seem to get more and more used to eachotherhowever, they havent been now for almost a year......my dog is huge and the other is tiny.......its the first 5 minutes which is always a nightmare when the other dog enters our house or garden, Theres lots of little scuffles, then playing, then scuffles again with the marking of territory everywhere in the garden for the first 5 minutes......What I need to know is how can we make it more relaxed and what is the best way to do the initial introduction again? Any advice would be greatly appreciated x

I think it would be best if they met on neutrel ground before the dog enters your house, over the park or somewhere where they can play and get to know each other again.
Agree, take them for a walk together, then let them off for a run and hopefully when they get home they will be knack*red and will settle down with each other. If you have a problem, have you a cage you could put one of them in so you can separate them if you need to.
