Beagle or Border Terriers

We are looking for a puppy and have read differing and sometimes conflicting reports on Beagles and Border Terriers. Can anyone give some more advice please?

Basically Beagles were bred to hunt all day, they howl a lot and run off following a scent if you let them off the lead. Need loads of exercise. They can be trained, but it is hard work and they are usually nice natured (although one in the Dog Paper today has been retired from showing after biting the ear of a young puppy...)

Border Terriers are fine if got from reputable breeders, they need regular attention to their coats but make good family pets.

Make sure they are KC registered and health checked, or else you might end up with one that is not exactly a Border Terrier, as there are many crosses out there, or with one that has health problems.
