is my hamster going insane? cause i am!

My hamster has a see through cage made of glass and it has been licking the same spot of it's window for the last 2 hours, why is it doing this? It's really irritating me.

Give him an ice cube or a cup fillied with coke or pepsi, it might be feeling hot and flustered and obviously cannot talk so is trying to communicate this in other ways perhaps?

It is also a sign of stress!

Having a hamster is always a battle between being able to see the pet and giving it plenty of privacy which is really what they prefer.

An all glass environment may make you happy but your hamster likes the opposite. Have you provided it with a little enclosed box or place where it can hide completely from view, and have plenty of dried grass etc available so it can build a nest.

Please ignore feist [the *u Ck wit], it sounds like boredom to me. Does he/she have plenty of things to climb on? Hamsters love climbing on the bars of their cage!

I have to agree with wildwood may well be stress. Make sure he/she has an enclosed area which is private and away from being seen.Hope you little pet settles down.

I know nothing about hamsters, but it does sound like boredom, perhaps he needs privacy too?
