Jack's diagnosis!
13 Answers
Hiya, for all those who helped out while Jack, our 3-y-o Border Collie, was back and forth to the vet's for skin scrapes and blood tests, I wanted to let you know that he was diagnosed as having a flea allergy-so we just need to flea him every 3 weeks, rather than every 4, and I have also got some tea-tree shampoo (not from the vet, don't worry!) to soothe his skin a bit, in between treatments.
Has anyone else experienced this? Do they have any other tips for making Jack more comfortable? It will be worse in Summer, but he is still itching a wee bit at the mo, so it is bugging him (I believe it's "Allergic Dermatitis").
Thanks, Lisa & Jack *woof* x

cruella and bensmum thank you very much! :)
Jack's isn't as severe as your mum's cat's ailment sounds, bensmum, but I can envisage it developing over time, so I would rather we dealt with it now, so there's less chance of it getting worse, and more chance of us managing it well.
cruella, I might try some Pyriton, thanks :)

Hiya,
One of my cats has a very bad reaction to fleas.
She is on frontline combi every 4 weeks, steroid injections and twice daily piriton tablets!
We have stopped the piriton for a bit as she was really starting to resent us and wouldnt let us near her, but she is due back at the vets very soon for another steroid injection.
We just keep her up to date with her treatment to keep her as comfy as we can. She is only 3, and I dread to think how she will be in the summer months if she needs so much treatment now :(
