How do hippos reroduce? And can they do it in and out of water?

Hippos (their name means river horse in Greek) court, copulate and give birth in the water. They're the second largest land mammal and they can't actually float in the water they have to paddle to stay afloat, but they often just submerge themselves and walk along river beds. They can breathe under water for 6 minutes.
