We are getting our puppy on monday!!

I posted a while ago because we were thinking about getting a dog and wanted some advice. We have been thinking long and hard and been to see a few but we have decided on a GSD x Collie. I'm completely torn between the dog and the bitch! When we went there were 8 puppies, all of which were gorgeous, but 2 stood out. both are still available and we are going to get one on monday! Yaay!
Has anyone got any suggestions of names?? I want something unusual but not too weird. Many thanks. Daffi x

Just wanted to congratulate you on your new addition to the family on Monday.Depends on whether it is female or male as to what you decide to call it.
No ideas at the moment but I am sure the wee thing will settle in well after a few days.

if your getting a male either kye or kez is a great name. for a female, either kizzy or cass are nice names.

No ideas for names - it is always a very personal decision (look up baby names there are some really unusual ones).

Good luck with your baby, it always makes me broody when somebody gets a puppy or kitten - never a human baby though. Somebody else got my maternal instinct.

Morning all! Many thanks for your suggestions. After much debate we have decided on Murphy for a boy or Indie if we get the girl. Will post up a pic when we get it. Daffi x

Aww jules don't....I've already said maybe I should have both! But in reality we don't have enough space for 2 big dogs. My other half keeps telling me as there is 3 puppies left, if I took 2 then the last one would be lonely!
I couldn't sleep last night! I am so excited! I have been up since 5am lol! Just counting the hours til 10am! Although the kids know we are getting a dog soon, they have no idea it is today! I can't wait to see their faces when they get home form school! As soon as I have a pic of the new family member I shall post it (if I can work out how!) Daffi x

a few wee hiccups ahead - chewing things doggy parcels etc
but will be far outweighed by the love & companionship in the years ahead
i live alone now i have two dogs dogs will never hurt you or let you down as for humans......

It's quite a good idea to have two, but not such a good idea to have two from the same litter.It's bad enough training one without having two of identical age ! If you ever decide to have two dogs then have the second pup three months to six months later (depending on breed; a second of one of smaller breeds can be taken in to the home earlier than one of the bigger ones). Then you'll have one just that bit older, who will be trained, and a younger one as company for it.
