Hi guys, I've had my rabbit for over a month now but I'm a little worried about him.
When I got him he was about 12 or 13 weeks and he was still in with all his brothers and sisters.
Before I left with him I watched him with his siblings and he was really happy jumping about and all.
When I got him home he was fine for a few days but now when I take him out to handle him he's really shy and curls up a bit sometimes making that nervous squeaky noise they do. When I let him run around he hides under things and doesnt want to explore.
I understand that he needs time to settle in but its been over a month now and I've been handling him alot so I dont see why he's still so nervous.
I'm wondering if maybe getting another rabbit would make him feel more at home? But I know that rabbits can fight so would this be adviseble ?
Any help ?

i would just persevere and hope he comes out of his shell, have you tried feeding him goodies by hand so he learns to like you? or maybe you could try stroking him whilst he's in his hutch as rabbits don't really like being picked up - i have to sit on the floor with mine if i want any bunnylove
bunnies do need a lot of attention, i have a bonded male and female (both spayed) and they get on very well.

Thanks elmett, I tried feeding him little chocolate things from the pet shop and some other stuff but he just wasn't interested. I'll try petting him while he's in his hutch then because I've been taking him out all the time so I'll give that a try. Thanks.

Gravitate what are you on about?!

He does like cabbage alot but I'll try those other things thanks.
Yeah his nails are fine, we have wood flooring and he doesnt seem to like running about on it too much. I'll need to try and get him outside soon but its practicly impossible with the weather here right now.
Thanks for your help emlett.
