why does why dog get an upset stomach after I take her to the beach

My dogs do as well. I think they get over excited, which does not help, but also they tend to take in some sea water, either by trying to drink it (which I try to stop) or buy taking it in whilst swimming or playing. The salt certainly upsets them, as it's not something they should have in their diet.

Anniekon is right, the first time we took our dogs to the beach. they both drank sea water and spent the rest of the day throwing up. Our dogs learned not to do it after that, but I know that lots of dogs don't...our current dog is a scavenger and she get her beach upset tummies by eating dead crabs etc if we don't stop her.

My dog stands in the sea water & laps at it constantly. After about 10 mins he starts projectile-****ting, which starts off brown but becomes clear as he is totally flushed out. This doesnt deter him though, he just keeps standing there lapping at the water & ****ting away...I dont mind coz it attracts the fish. My other dog does this but throws up as well & seems to get all woosy & ill. The trick is not to put them in the car within at least half an hour of a trip to the beach coz cleaning dog **** & vomit out of the car is never a good way to spend a weekend
