My daughter had her 11 month old puppy spayed 2 days ago...... a miniature dachshund. She recovered well from the operation but since yesterday she is whining such a lot. She doesn't appear to be in any pain is eating well and is as active as normal. From being a very quiet puppy this is so out of character. Any ideas as to why this is going on ....she did have a phantom pregnancy could this be the reason?

I suspect she is just feeling a bit under the weather and wondering what has been happening. Give her extra TLC and gentle cuddles and I am sure she will be fine in a couple of days.
Maybe it is a reaction to the difference in hormones she now produces.
it might be an idea just to go back to the vet that spayed her and get her checked cos my bitch was spayed an two days later at a check they found the internal stitches had ruptured due to a bad batch of sutures and she had to go back under anasthetic to be restitched internally, i don,t want to worry you but better safe than sorry cos dogs have a really high pain threshold and don,t whine for no reason. if it is such a thing its done for no extra charge. hope its not that though and she has a highly emotional, look at me i,m poorly dog.
