Please does anyone know the name of the rail-like wading bird also called a LIMKIN?

I presume you mean a limpkin.

The only other name I've heard in courlan, but that is really french.

It looks like an American version of a Water Rail, is very rare, but I can't find any other name....yet.

It's ss wildwood says - Courlan.

Other common names are Carrao and Crying Bird.
