just need some comforting words

My 11 year old golden labrador has just gone in today for an op to remove a wart from his head. creams and tablets were tried but did not clear it. Vet says his heart is strong but that does not stop me from worrying .I have to ring at 1 30pm and believe me the time is certainly dragging this morning..I could not look back when the nurse took him as he would have had such a pathetic look on his face. Roll on 1 30pm

Oh, doesn't the time just drag when you're waiting for something like that - you start to think the clock's going backwards I could say 'don't worry' but that's no use, I couldn't stop if one of my 'gang' were undergoing surgery.

Mind you they can look at you like you're abandoning them, or worse but the time WILL pass and I hope the news is all good - and there's nothing more to concern you. Chin up S

Ignore that last post, being on here is probably giving you something to think about other than your dog. Anaesthetics these days are very safe and they use ones that bring the dog round quickly afterwards. A vet would not operate on a dog if he did not think it was healthy enough. It is better than perhaps knocking the wart and having a problem with bleeding, so you have done the right thing. Not long to go now.

wendilla, poor you! "Don't worry" won't help, will it, seekeerz is right! It's natural to worry.
HE will soon be home, none the worse for wear, but probably sleepy and wanting a cuddle!

Thanks for your reply yes i am watching the clock and I will certainly post on later after I get him back home.He is going to have the most pathetic face but that I can put up with as long as he is ok and yes you are right you always get the idiot on here with there sarcastic remarks been on here long enough to suss them out when they change there names but I just don't retaliate a second time just like to say my piece.

I hope by now you have had good news about your dog and that he's home being spoilt. It's awful waiting like that isn't it - you can't settle to anything and time goes by so slowly especially when you're looking at the clock every 5 minutes.

I am only reading your post now but if I had read it earlier, I would have advised you to think about all the different ways that you could treat him when he got home!

Thanks all for your enquiries yes he is home I picked him up at 4 30 .He was feeling a bit sorry for himself but as the evening went on and he had a good rest he is more active now .Thanks again

Hi wendilla great news, you have him home safely and all is well - what a relief for all.

Sorry to see you had to cope with some of the stranger souls that float around spreading their silliness, but thoroughly out-weighed by those of us who really care about the people who post here for support and comfort and encouragement.

It's taken a little while to get back and check on your news, but then being on the other side of the world has it's drawbacks - I'm in Australia, so you may not get this for a while. Give your chap a hug and tell him the 'gang from down under' send whoofs cheers, S

Thank you everyone .It was great to read your replies and concern .Yesterday seemed as it would never pass till time to pick him up.I have just got up and he seems back to his normal self (demanding ) lol and big mamma think by previous replies you have a lab too.
