canary v budgie
1 Answers
my canary died a few days ago and now im feeling better im thinking of getting another bird - im thinking of getting a budgie as my canary's singing upset my cat. Do budgies sing as well? what are the main differences? my canary wouldn't eat canary food so i had to get finch food for him, will this be ok for the budgie as well, as ive got a huge sack of it? what else should i think about before getting a budgie?

They tend to sing and chat to themselves and occasionally they start squawking if the mood takes them. They are very gregarious birds so if you are out a lot of the time it might get lonely. You could always leave a radio on - I used to do this if I was going to be out a lot. Mine used to start yelling when I was trying to watch the TV but to be honest you learn to ignore the noise after a while. They also need exercise so it's best if you can let it out for a fly round (not when the cat is in the room!) I don't know about feed - they do need certain nutrients.
