If it has a long tail then it could be a Long Tailed Tit.
A Great Tit? They are similar to a blue tit but slightly larger.http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdguide/name /g/greattit/index.asp
The information privided is really about as much use as t1ts on a bull and doesnt really fit any birds of that size. What colour head did it have? Any patterns on the head? What colour back? Wings? Chest? What sort of beak? Thick, thin short, long? where was it? In a tree? On the ground? In what type of area? Woods? Fields?

However if its definitely 2 tone-ish I'd say coal tit. Marsh and Willow are fairly scarce, long tailed and great tits have obvious other colours on them.
Wrens, Goldcrests and warblers are fairly uniform in colour, unless it was a black cap...

sorry my info was so poor but didn't think you needed to be rude about it i certainly won't post anymore questions
Hello bubs! Please don't take any notice of just one poster, as we all answer in diferent ways.

Now, you have given us the right information in mentioning the habitat - woods. So, as you will know a Blue Tit well enough, my guess will be the more common Willow Tit. It's very similar in colouring (cream and black) to the Marsh Tit and both are found in woodlands, despite the latter's name. If you heard the call or song you would be able to identify it instantly. The Marsh Tit sounds like it's sneezing , with a bright 'pit choo' sound, while the Willow Tit wheezes with a zi zi call or a tyoo, tyoo song.

Willow tit - Common?!?!?!? You must be joking.
If you are referring to the UK anyway. Ive been birding for years and Ive not yet seen a Willow Tit. Ive seen one Marsh Tit. I see Blue, Great and Coal tits nearly every day.

Bubs I dont mean to be rude I just get annoyed by questions with little or no info to help. A bit like someone saying, I saw a brown animal with 4 legs in the woods, what was it?
