6 weeks ago bart got killed on the road last week we had to have muppet put to sleep now yesterday i had to lose simon (cat) he had been having bladder problems for the past month and on a couple of different antibiotics took him to the vets again yesterday morning expecting him to say he must have sturvite stones in his bladder and not an infection so they would keep him in and flush his bladder out but on feeling him he said his bladder was very irregular shaped with lots of lumps he said he could do a biopsey but was quite sure what the outcome was going to be. so i had to let him go we buried him beside muppet last night. today i feel like a zombie i cant believe this has all happened its bad enough losing 1 pet but to lose 3 this close together its a nightmare thanks for listening all it is a great help to get on here and talk to you all ruth

Oh, ruthann, I feel so sorry for you. I guess I'll be in your situation soon - Elsa (my lovely GSD) is nearly 10 & she's a bit wobbly on her legs, Romy and Cassie (my 2 old tortie cats )are nearly 11 and Romy is definately showing signs of old age - she sleeps most of the day and doesn't seem to know what she wants when she's awake! One minute, she wants to go out, next minute, she's at the window, wanting to come back in. I've got the younger cats & Jake (mad collie), but my old ladies are very special to me. I dread the day when I have to say "goodbye - off to the Rainbow Bridge my lovelies!" but I guess it'll come.... K xxx
I am sorry to hear about Simon (nice name) , especially so soon after losing Bart and Muppet. You have lost three loving friends within a short period of time.
My heart goes out to you - but they were loved greatly whilst they were alive and that is more than some companion animals are.
Best wishes for the future.

hi shivvy thanks for asking yes i feel much better today its so hard to lose them simon had been off colour for awhile now nothing you could put your finger on just not quite himself ,thought it was just a water infection but it was obvisouly something else growing fast inside him my vet was great talked me through it and i know i made the right decision for him it was just such a shock at the time. he was a funny little cat and not quite a full load we rescued his mother from a place where the cats all in bred with each other and were semi feral she gave birth to 2 kittens when we had her about 2 weeks my vet had warned me that they might be born with problems, his sister was the brightest little kitten you can imagine she had all the brains and simon not many at all sadly she died at six weeks as she had internal problems and could not eat any food we were going to find simon a home but he turned out to be quite simple hence his name so we kept him, he would have been 11 next week over the years he has given us loads of laughs and was a,very special little cat ,until my mum died he lived in her side of the house and was spoilt rotten he loved anything sweet and pinched her slice of swiss roll off the table while she was making her cup of tea one day. at xmas time he was in his heaven as soon as he heard the lid come off the sweet tin he was there with his paw in the tin i know chocolate is poison to them but he certainly didnt and would not go away till he had a little piece we have lots of lovley memories of them all and it is so nice to get on here and talk about them Ruth xxx
Simon sounds like a real hoot Ruth!
I am more of a doggy person than a cat person but last year we were adopted by a little stray puss who walked in through our back door one day looking very sorry for herself and decided to stay. She had a bad paw and was very very skinny. We had her for a few months before she got back up to a good weight and we called her Rowdy because she would shout for her dinner so loudly! She turned out to be a great hunter and would sit and mouse in our shed for hours on end. A colleague who lives on a farm mentioned that she would like a mouser so she is now living very happily on a farm being loved by 2 children and mousing til her little heart is content!
I am calling her 'her' however before we passed her on to her new home we left her into the vet to be neutered. However, I got a phonecall an hour later saying that not only was she not a female, but she was an already-neutered male! Poor old Rowdy - I had had him in a pink collar for months!
Anyhow, I hope that made you smile and I am so glad that you are feeling a bit better. You have had a horrible experience but I promise you that the sadness fades just as the good memories become more strong.
Take care.
