jimee, why you think im cruel to my dog? im trying not leave her alone longer than3 or 4 hours, and i only work 4 days a week, each time i off work i got dog sitter.

im not driving, there no nearby park, if my bf is not working, we always take her to seaside during weekend, if he is working weekend, we even pay someone to drive me and the dog to park for 1 hours walk, how can you critise people so easily?
Sounds just fine mirela. x She has a good home.
As I said before, I don't think Jimmee even read or perhaps didn't understand the question. Some people talk out of their backside.
A lot of us have this problem, mind you, some people call it work. I would love to have a dog, but as I am away from home for sometimes 12 hours a day, and they won't let me have a dog on the bus I drive for some reason. The person I live with has a dog, but he takes it with him to work, and as he had his own nursery he just lets it run round in the garden.

So, you must either have the dogsitter, or not have a dog at all. By the way my favourite breed are Westies, followed by Goldies.
Getting a dogsitter/walker is acceptable, but surely if you get a dog what is the point paying someone else for something that you should be doing and what is part of looking after a dog? it makes no sense to me, I work part time, but I make certain that I myself get home to walk my dogs during the day, I wouldn't want anyone else to do it, someone has said that they are not human, of course they aren't but that means they don't think like humans, so do not learn that their owner is coming home, for all they know when you go out that door in the morning they may then have to fend for themselves, they do not know you are coming back, if you look on the RSPCA website they recommend 4 hours to be the maximum time a dog should be left, they also say that if you work full time then a dog is the wrong pet for you, however you say you have a dogsitter come in so that cancels that out, but you are missing out on a lot of quality dog/human time, especially as your dog is effectively still a puppy.
From the RSPCA website.

The right pet for you?
Dogs make very good friends, are intelligent, faithful and fun. But they take up a lot of time and energy, are quite expensive to look after and need plenty of space. A dog is not a good choice for people who are out all day.

What do dogs need?

* Companionship - to be with other dogs or people and not to be left alone for too long.
Illrya I agree with you here, but I would rather see dogs with an owner like mirela that a great deal of dog owners. Many, many people who work keep dogs successfully and the dogs are well adjusted and happy.

However, I do not agree that a dog will not understand that you are coming back again when you leave them. They certainly pick up on timings very quickly. My dogs know our daily timetable very well!
The RSPCA will take your dog away if you are being cruel - and this sounds like cruelty to me, personally I think you should be behind bars, see how you like it.

Im horrified that you are all condoning dog torture, you are all sick people - what kind of a website is this? Have I stumbled across a dog torture web ring?
Just go away and play elsewhere Jimmee.
I would also add that I have only ever had two dogs together so they have always had company.
Why do I get the feeling that jimee99 is gravitate.
mmmmm..........

nah, jimee cannot be gravy, if is him, i gonna break his legs.

just took leila for a walk, work late shift today. some people have higher standards maybe, but personally, i think we are trying our best to look after her. as people suggested, i will keep using the petsitter all the time.

thanks loftylottie for the support:) we do considering if getting another dog or not to keep leila company, but need consider where to get it, which kind of dog, will be good if i have baby this year or next year, financial and time, where my bf will work, england or abroad etc. so still cant make decision yet.

I think something should be said about the rottweiler, its not fair. Call the RSPCA!!!

Ive always wanted a dog, but not got one because I work, im out the house from 8.30 until 5.30ish - just wouldnt be fair, so ive settled for cats and tropical fish!
