Is domestic Cat saliva anti-septic?

I know that wild tigers have anti-septic saliva and can heal wounds by licking them, can domestic house cats do the same?

well I wouldn't want to rely on it...cat (and dog) bites are full of germs
Not to humans!

Cats mouths are full of bacteria, which is why it's potentially serious if they bite you and make a deep puncture wound!

So I shouldn't let my cat lick my cuts?
ummm NO would be the answer to that and don't you lick hers either!! :-)
If my mother ever cut herself she would let the dog run his tongue over her hand where the cut was. She said it was because it made the cut heal quicker. I have to say she was right it did heal quicker.
