What happens to flys when it rains - where do they go - can they dodge raindrops?

Flies hide everywhere when it rains, mainly in trees under leafs.
If you meant the housefly, they hang around under cover around and in the the house/shed/garage. They do not like to fly in the rain or wind.
they fly in such a way that they cause a vortex over top of them which in effect atomises the rain drop causing it to have so significant impact.
