Hi bluehornet - I sometimes walk with a stick when out with doggie (its not a walking stick if you see what I mean - more of a carved thing). Partly because my back will sometimes give me gip (after serious horse riding accident years ago) and often it comes in useful (when we take different tracks) to hold back brambles and nettles etc to enable us to pass through into the greener pastures yonder and carry on exploring!
Avatar: I understand what you are saying but 90% - that does not bode well. I meet many good doggy owner friends on my walks and we all have our poop bags to hand - if there is not a doggie bin then we take them home. Unfortunately - yes - there are many dog owners (for want of a better word) that turn a blind eye and will not pick up the mess left by their dogs. Its infuriating and irresponsible on their part.
However, I also have to say that humans can be no better! I have seen litter left, nappy bags left, refuse that is all harmful to the beautiful wildlife, horses, foals, swans, etc etc etc that we enjyoy in our area. (Even tho bins are to hand and emptied on a regular basis.
What is the answer? I wish I knew. :o(
