Benson went missing on a walk today, whilst hiking up a mountain he ran off, he usually has perfect recall but today, something has caught his attention and he ran till he was out of sight. He went missing from St Sundays Valley in Patterdale - Cumbria. They were hiking, so this is not a busy place, so it will be hard to sight him. He doesnt have the best of hearing as when he arrived in rescue, he had an untreated ear condition which resulted in his ear canal being removed. He has been sighted by 1 couple who were walking past, but he was quite far from them (he was still up the mountain) Benson never barks, but the dog they seen was barking alot and seemed distressed so he is obviously trying to find his way home :( if there is anyone in the area, please keep an eye out. He is wearing a collar and tag, and is microchipped. His owner can be contacted on: 07988710231 Or call us on: 0151 521 2133 See photo's here http://www.boxerdogrescue.co.uk/

Oh no, I can't help as I'm not in that area but please let us know if he's found ...I just spent about 45 minutes on that site, what fabulous dogs they are and Benson looks just gorgeous xx
y didnt they run after it? I hate these stories.

tu de bang - if they were anything like me they'd be petrified of dogs and would not want to try and catch it. Personally I hate these stories of dogs not being on leads. I HATE it when I'm out and a dog runs up to me, whether it is barking or not. Then the stupid owner says something like 'it's only being friendly'. Why can't some dog owners understand that not everyone likes dogs and doesn't want to be approached by what can often seem like a fierce dog.
Hi Lankeela
I'm local and will keep eyes and ears open. Have they put up any posters? If I can help I will.
Hi lankeela - I'm afraid i am no where near the area but am keeping fingers crossed that Benson is found safe and sound. Keep us posted.

With best wishes - alfieblue n pup. :o)

I am in South Cumbria, so a little way away from where Benson scarpered, but I don't mind doing all I can to help. Are there any posters etc.?
