any idea how often coal tits should be feeding their young? i put up a RSPB next box about 7 weeks ago and thought i had left it too late, but to my surprise, there are at least 2 chicks popping their heads out, i have seen a adult going in the box a few times, but not often.

When tits are feeding young they make countless visits. I have watched a pair of blue tits feeding young and there was one adult taking food back at least every minute. When the chicks are well grown the feeding is a non-stop effort for the adults.
