Woken by a gull
13 Answers
Having been woken at 3.30 as my partner got up for work, I was looking forward to a lie-in. However, the gulls outside had other ideas, and began their squawking (Mine! Mine!) at about 4.45. THEN, as I finally dropped off, I was woken by our dog's frantic barking at the window. Yet another gull had crashed straight into the glass, giving us both a fright!
When will gulls learn? And why do they keep pooping on my car?!

There is one particular gull-recognisable by his slightly deranged appearance!-who starts fights with himself in peoples' windows!
I am not over-fussed, I just find it odd that year on year they do the same thing! Sadly, we live in a coastal town where there are gulls everywhere, so there is no escaping them! We currently have some in our chimney, nesting down with the pigeon family! They are rife, and moreso because people flytip round here (blergh!).
Parking is on-street, as we are in the town centre, so nothing but terraced houses with no garage! It is a Metro, not a Merc, so I don't break my heart, but it's a bu88er to see a hot fresh turd on my just-washed car!

Ah I see. Not so much a fight then, as foreplay? Poor things...You would think they weren't short of love interests, given the amount of them around! It is the same gull that paps on my car, and also sits on the roof of the cars at this end of the street, pecking away again. I think maybe he is lonely!
