Hi
Those of you who remember, we adopted Flossy 2 months ago. She was a little pregnant stray who came to us on a regular basis. Her kittens all died while birthing, so we got her back earlier than expected.
She has adjusted beautifully, although the vet said she is putting on a lot of weight. When I told him how much she ate he shouted at me!!!
I feed her 3 pouches a day... is this bad.. he said 1 or 1 and a half!!! she would go balistic if i gave her 1/2 in the morning and 1/2 at night???
What do you think??
also she brought home her 1st 'present' last week, a little dead mouse. I screamed my head off. I know its natural but is this a sign og things to come...lol???

3 pouches a day is a bit excessive, she eats them because after being a stray, she probably hasn't yet realised that she will get regular food supplies! Try to reduce it to 2 at first, then half of one in the morning, the last half at night. If you leave a constant supply of dry food in between as well, it'll be plenty for her! I have now weaned my cat off wet food, and she is thriving on good quality dry food. I vary the brands and flavours, to give her some variety, and she seems to like it!
Not forgetting a lot cheaper for YOU! lol

happyjo, my Gavin (female - don't ask!) was a stray as well, also pregnant (8 live kittens!! kept 2, homed 6) and she is an absolute gannet!! She eats twice as much as each of the others do and is a fat little pudding! I put it down to having to fend for herself for several months, but even now, almost 3 years later, she's still a piggy. I try to ration her to 2 sachets a day, but they all get fed in the same place and the others have to eat, too. One consolation, though, she's too fat to kill anything!! K x
oh the presents you have all sorts of delights to come you will get used to them, you just wait till she brings you a live one home and lets go of it in the house, we have had all sorts, half grown squirrel running round the kitchen, frog behind the book case, assorted mice, thankfully the rat tommy brought home and laid at my husbands feet one night as we were watching tele was dead if she is getting a bit tubby cut her food down very slowly then she wont notice so much ,overweight cats are more prone to diabetis we had a lovely fat who now has itand has to have insulin injections twice a day in fact it is due now i had better get off here and do it xxxruthxxx
