Hoodie Foxes.
21 Answers
Is it just me or is there an increase in the number of urban foxes?
Last night I had, what can only be described as a pack of hoodie teenage foxes in my front garden, playing havoc, making lots of noise. I would say there were about five or six of them.
One was peeing up against the cherry tree and then proceeded to drag it's arse along our newly laid turf, whilst another sounded like it was trying to remove the wing of one of the cars. There was another jumping up and down on the boot of the car and yet another playing with a carton, it had found under the van.
There was so much noise, I banged on the window, but they just all looked at me and proceeded to have their teenage fun. In the end, I had to go outside and throw a bowl of water in their direction, which made them scarper.

Someone at the end of the road feeds him at around 7:00 p.m., so he is uaually around then. If a car approaches when he is crossing the road, he stares at it until it stops, then strolls across. Run? Get real!
I think he is rather cool, but my wife saw him peeing on one of her plants, and then scuffing up all the soil, so his name is mud with the present Mrs Hughes.

I have probably seen about two in thirty years, Wiggal, although I have seen dead ones at the side of the road (but not that many. The one I saw at close range was down a disused railway track in our nearby market TOWN!!
They have enough food here in the country to survive without coming into gardens or raiding dustbins!!

I believe they have become very brave in towns because they can get food so easily and people generally accept them and really quite like them. Most true country people (myself not included) just see them as vermin who take their chickens, etc. for food. Quite honestly though they don't do much harm in the country and there plenty of food for them around without thieving. Fox hunting is just an excuse for a jolly for the hunting brigade. It does virtually nothing to control foxes in the countryside (who really don't need controlling that much)
My daughter works two nights a week and on these two nights she see's the same fox go in the direction of a fast food outlet, on her break she will see it again going back again. She said that only two people who she can trust know about the fox [ frightened that someone might kill it] This routine has been going on for about two years now, so good luck to him/her.As yet no others have been with it .g

That is good to hear that your daughter will not trust everyone to know about the fox.
We have a fox, rabbits, hedgehogs squirrels and all sorts of bird life around our house. I love it.
People complain about the rabbits eating their plants. Well, I don't care if they eat mine. They can always be replaced.

Garner, I am sitting here imagining a fox going into a drive through McDonalds and asking for a double cheeseburger and french fries.
