Thank you but I can't see an emu coming to feed from my bird table or even a duck . maybe I didn't word my question properly. I mean those birds which are likely to visit my bird table
you need ray to come to the rescue, i think but dont quote me on it that blackbirds are classed as softbill as they tend to eat more fruit than seed. but i could be wrong so hopefully ray or yogasun and other wild life lovers will help you out.
Softbills is a bit of a misnomer as this was invented to be the opposite to hardbills. Hardbills are generally seedeaters and softbills fruit/insect eaters. As always, there are exceptions.
madaboutcats is quite right; blackbirds are softbills as are thrushes, robins etc. Tits and sparrows are hardbills.
