Well I've got a male Siamese fighting fish in my aquarium,I'm not sure if that's the same...I'm not an expert but I'll tell you what I know.
They come in loads of different really vivid colours, mine is a very deep turqoise blue with long floaty fins. I've also seen them in red or purple shades. They get on in a community tank, need tropical lighting & heating. The male fish are the fancy coloured ones, the females are a bit plainer with shorter fins. You mustn't keep 2 males together as they will fight & in the end 1 of them will die through stress if nothing else. You can keep a male & female together quite happily, but have to separate any offspring that are males. They get on with the other fish in the tank, but don't put them with Barbs or any other fish that nip fins.
They eat normal tropical food & seem to do better if the water is well oxygenated.
