I'm talking about kennel size here!

At the mibute we have one medium sized kennel in the garden which boh my Ashke and Cleo curl up together in, but we are looking to upgrade!

I saw a kids shed kinda thing, (likea little shed with a door and little windows and stuff!) and its sround 7ft x 6t.

We are looking to buy one for the back garden, purely for the dogs use.

Just thought It would be much better then a kennel as it is a lot larger and they can easily have both beds, food and water bowls inside and it wont be too small to shut Ashke in if he starts barking like a lunatic!

Would just like your thoughts if its a good idea really!?

yeah i think that it is much better for the dogs to have more space but it might be an idea to keep there old kennel there for a while until they get used to the new one
Shut him in because he is barking???
Personally I prefer mine in the house with me, although the youngest does like to be outside during the day as much as possible, but the door is always open for him to come back in.

If I had to have a kennel, I would buy one with a covered run combined like these, although they are going to be more expensive than what you are looking at.

A friend of mine has just moved house and sold one of her unused kennel very cheaply, the buyer just had to take down and remove from site.

echokilo, yes we sometimes have to shut him in because he is barking, as we were advised to do when we took him to dog training.

Although we are hoping to put a different type of fencing along the back of the garden which will fingers crossed put a stop to his barking.

Cleo is in with us a lot of the time but she does spend a lot of time out in the garden terrorising Ashke during the day but Ashke is much more of an outside boy.

I do like the ones with the run attached, but the door will be open and they will have full run of the garden anyway.

Although thats not the one and obviously without the frilly green bits and pieces, and kids toys! That is a smaller version of what I'm looking to get for them.
If you have a 'covered' run, they would be able to have access to the outside even if it were raining, and you could shut the door to stop them running round the garden getting soaked.

That is a very good point jules!

Although, like you say, they are quite a fair bit more expensive! Although I could see if I can talk my other half into maybe extending the one we are getting and building a run onto it?!

theres a plan! lol!

Problem with the 'wendy house' type sheds is that the sun can shine through the windows and make them too warm, and they are not usually as well insulated as proper kennels or sheds. I'd definitely look for a second hand one, or build a run round the one you have.
