what dose it mean when a horses ears are sleanted backwards

Generally it would mean it is upset in some way - this can mean it's afraid, or more likely that it's annoyed. A horses ears will go flat back on it's head often just before it kicks out or just before it puts it's neck down ready to charge off an opponent.
