what are the symptoms of a food allergy?

There can be all sorts of symptoms. Peanut allergies sometimes cause anaphylactic shock. Melon gives my husband a bellyache. Some allergies cause skin sensitivities and eczema. Chocolate and grape allergies can cause headaches. Sometimes people's tongues swell up. For a while I had an allergy that would cause my mouth to have an unpleasantly astringent feel. Food allergies can also cause behavioral problems, depression, or irritability.

For animals or humans? If it's the latter, perhaps it would be better either under Food & Drink or Body & Soul.

Sometimes when i drink cold milk my lip sweels up and tingles and fels tender to touch and a little bumpy, i'm 25 and has never happened before 2 years ago, strangely this always happens when i kiss my cat too!? What could it be?
