The best news for you alfieblue, was watching border news and marmite was on, and guess what he went home today, the poor wee puss has had two operations in a space of three weeks and now the vets thinks he'll get well quicker at home (yippee), he still looked a bit groggy but what great news to know that he can go home.
Now what would make it even better news is when they catch the twisted so and so, a local business man has set up a reward fund in hope it might help someone come forward.

I so hope that they catch the person responsible. Thank you so much for giving me an update, I have been thinking about the poor wee soul. I feel so much happier knowing marmite is pulling thru. :o) xxxx

Ive been following the local news and paper every day hoping for an up date alfieblue and was overjoyed to see the border tv reporter at marmites cage at the vets, to see him sitting up and looking a wee bit embaressed at being on tv with a shaved body and then seeing him with his dad taking him home, they ended the report showing a get well card he'd got.........my card, i recognised my message. Hopefully now hes home with his family and familiar surrounds his health will come on in leaps and bounds and i hope that border tv might give us an update on how hes recovering at home. love to you and pup.xx

Yes Drfilth the greatest little fighter marmite was the cat shot with the arrow, theres still no news on if they've caught the b*****d. At least marmite beat the odds and has gone home to his loving family for all the tender loving care they can give him to get him well and healthy again.
