well my one cat, who thinks she is the favourite, will not allow me to talk to my younger cat. And she always jumps up on my lap to stop any further conversation....It's true, and so funny at times.
:-)
Oh yes, many certainly do get jealous.

Our dog is very jealous. If my hubby makes a fuss of any other animal he sulks for hours. He turns his back and ignores everyone.
I have two parrots and one of them is extremely jealous of the other.

If I talk to the second parrot, the first parrot sulks, and turns his back on me, refusing to speak to me!
Yes, very much so. Our dogs spend a lot of time pushing each other and the cat off our laps.
Yes defiinitely.

My ex and I had a puppy who would get very jealous about people being close to each other as he always wanted to be the one getting affection.

When he thought we were asleep, he'd crawl in the bottom of the bed, inch his way up between us then turn on his side and push his legs out and my ex away so he was cuddled up to me. I'd often wake up wondering why I couldn't breathe properly to find him lying over my neck!

My mum's cat was very funny when I was born apparantly, didn't like someone new getting the attention.

Have seen poor kitties getting a whack from other cat after kitty had had some affection.
dont know if it counts but my wife's cat sits on my knee when I'm on here . and that makes my wife very jealous :-)
<dustypuss, it might be a bit difficult to type with Mrs DP on your lap. lol
