hey..does anyone know where i can give in puppies. my dog had puppies but financially i cannot look after 6 dogs alltogether so would prefer to hand them in at least i no they are being look after. i need somewhere in medway, kent

Why dont you advertise them for sale in your local paper or in a shop window...I wouldnt be too keen on giving them away, if someone is prepared to pay for one they obviously intend on being a serious dog owner...give them away and they could and up anywhere and in all sorts of hands...what are they by the way?

Have you made sure that your dog has been done so this won't happen again and there will be no more unwanted puppies?

I would advertise for good homes for the puppies as shelters are overcrowded as they are. Make sure you don't let them go until they are properly ready to be separately from their mother, 8 weeks old at the least.

Make sure you vet potential owners and homes for them to make sure that they are going somewhere decent to someone who will look after them properly and won't just leave them while out at work all day, make sure they get all their vaccinations etc...

If it were me I'd make sure they were properly vaccinated before they were given to new owners.

Could you get a rescue place to help advertise them but keep them in the meantime so that the rescue place can concentrate on animals in more need such as strays or mistreated ones. Are there any friends or family who could help?

If they have to take them, could you donate some money towards their keep and vaccinations?

You are doing the most sensible thing to hand them over. If you cannot afford to keep them, then let them go to people who will find them good homes. Ask at your local vet for the nearest dog rescue centre - there is an RSPCA centre is Medway but I think it is small animals only. I am sure you have found out by now breeding dogs is not as easy as it looks and when you have a litter of hungry mouths to feed
it can seem as though its is never ending. I hope you get sorted, and I will make enquiries about local rescues for you.

yes JEN i have made sure that she is getting done as you have put it a female dog should have 1 litter at least which she has done. they are cross staff/jack russels. thnks for every1 elses help

have tried advertising as well but noone seems interested. and yes i do no that they cant leave the mother untill 8 weeks. i didnt ask for any other comments just places they can go thanks. if needed advise on vaccinating etc i would contact a vet

Don't go to the RSPCA as many of the animals that find their way into their hands end up being put down.

I know you just want suggestions on rehoming but I just want to say that you didnt have to wait for your female dog to have a litter before having her spayed. It is even been proved that there is no need to wait for the first season either...

As for hearing dogs, they don't take just any dog, they have to be suitable to be trained, with the right temperament and size and many dogs are rejected as being unsuitable.
Although I have no time for the RSPCA where puppies are concerned they will usually take them and find homes quite easily, as most people want puppies when they go to them.

lsharp, I must agree with PaganLady, and it isn't a judgement, just a comment: a female dog does NOT need to have a litter before spaying, it's a myth, and a damaging one at that.

I hope your pups find great new homes, and that your dog is well and healthy after giving birth.
