Not sure, but I think pork is too rich for cats, although they eat it when they are scavenging!
There seems to be lots of theories. One is that pork causes irritation & upset stomachs in cats (&dogs), there may be parasites in pork, but it's also said that humans taste like pork & you wouldn't want your pet to suddenly fancy taking a chunk out of your leg 'cos he was feeling peckish! :o)
OMG. You live and learn, humans taste like pork...........................
You've never tried one Lottie?
better put it on your 'Must do before.....' list ;o)
Never thought of there not being pork cat food. Ours love the remains of our chops cut up after our dinner and its never done them any ham. All the parasites will be destroyed in the cooking surely. And I would have thought that the horrid things they catch probably have a few more parasites!!! God they're foul aren't they??!
Haha! I meant do them any harm not ham!! Scuse the pun!
ha ha lollyloop "Ours love the remains of our chops cut up after our dinner and its never done them any HAM. ".... snigger!

oh right. So its not like giving chocolate to dogs? You know...they say that chocolate is bad for dogs and can kill them. I suppose that giving my cat a small piece of bacon wont do him any harm.
