Has nothing to do with the neutering... Lyme disease is a wood tick born bacteria that has serious ramifications for dogs as well as humans. Great Britain has seen about a 10 fold increase in the disease in the last 10 years. We, here in the U.S. have dealt with the disease since it's discovery in 1975...
Lyme Disease is carried by rats.
I think it's Weil's disease that's carried by rats isn't it Schutzengel?
Lyme disease is carried by ticks (often from deer). People can catch it as well as dogs.

It has been linked to sudden, unusual aggression in dogs:

It can be easily treated with antibiotics.

By the way rats carry Leptro. (part of the usual annual vaccination), they do not carry and are not responsible for lyme disease.
I stand corrected, must have been having a senior moment.
On TV right now, on Casualty, there is a man bleeding to death from Weil's disease contracted through contact with rats urine!
Weil's disease is the same as Leptospirosis.

Weil's is what it is called when a person gets it, Leptospirosis is what it is called when an animal gets it.
Oh that was a coincidence then lankeela, I didn't see it.
I only know of Weil's Disease because my son's a caver & they have to be aware of it.
