What's up with the large nipples?

We have a lab who was given to us at a very early age. We think she is about 10-11 months old. She was in heat about a month ago. Her nipples are getting large and she seems to be filling up with milk. Does this necessarily mean that she is pregnant? She used to get out of our yard before I installed a taller fence, but I do not remember her getting out while she was in heat. Is this a normal thing for a young pup who is not spayed?

It's quite possible that she's having a phantom pregnancy, which would give all the symptoms you describe.
I'd take her to the vet to be checked out. If is is a phantom pregnancy as honkytonkman suggests, the vet would probably be able to give her a hormone injection to help get things right. He could also advise on the pro's and con's of spaying her if you wanted to get her done
My dog had this problem from about six months until she was spayed. It wasn't a phantom pregnancy, just hormone problems. Spaying sorted it all out.
