If the speculation is true that Animal Activists desecrated Mrs Hall's grave, what justification can they possibly give? Would be interested to hear how they feel this was a fair target. Personally, I think these people are just utter utter sick skumbags - they are sub-human.

I agree with you andsty. I am an animal lover and totally against farming animals for medical research, but that's not the point here. These people are giving true animal lovers a really bad name. Most of us respect animals and humans, these people don't respect anybody. Personally, I think they just do these things for their personal gratification and have sick minds.
The leader of the Animal Liberation Front was interviewed on Channel 4 news last night and, although he was careful to state that his group hasn't claimed responsibility, he said that personally it angered him more to think of a guinea pig being tested on than it did that to have 'some old bones' disturbed. He also said that such an act would fit with the ALFs policy of non-violent direct action to raise the profile of the suffering of animals. I found his reference to the awful desecration of Mrs Hall's grave as a 'stunt' particularly distastful.
I am absolutely amazed that someone could do this kind of thing, then try and justify it in some way. It's hard to define lines of acceptability in these 'moral crusades' but in any kind of civilised society this surely is going too far. In my opinion, it's not a subject to which most people give a huge amount of thought, (rightly or wrongly), but this can only stir people to side against the activists.
I myslef, am an animal activist and I support PeTA, SHAC and NAVS. I think charities like the British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research should be stomped on because they have never found a 'breakthrough' and animal testing is hindering medical progess. I think that old hag should have been tortured when she was and experience what the animals she bred for research went through. She deserves to rest in chaos, not in peace. So personally, I think the desecration was strange but she should have been tortured in her living days.
