weirdest animal I can own in the England

Whats the weirdest animal I can own in England without a license, Not thinking of getting one would just be interested , I was thinking maybe an ostrich in my garden.

I'm afraid an ostrich would need a Dangerous Animals Licence.

 

I can't think of many good big ones you'd not need a licence for.  Water buffalo would be OK -- no more licences than for ordinary cattle.  Second thoughts cattle are so bureaucratic it might be easier to get a hippo and have done with it....

 

There are loads of brilliant small ones.  How about dragonfly larvae, water bears, slime-mould, pseudoscorpions, water spiders, ants, stag beetles -- I could go on....
